Dreemskerry Vintage - The Story So Far
Vintage costume jewellery is a huge favourite of mine. I love finding it, wearing it and collecting it. Furthermore, I love selling it because then I can go out hunting and find some more!
I have a small blue box with a cream silk lining. The silk is old and faded and the cover is a little bit worn and tired. Inside the box are pieces of costume jewellery from the 1940’s and 50’s. I inherited these from my two Grandmothers Beatrice and Edith.
Some of these brooches have a little less sparkle than they used to, but I can’t part with them because I love them all.
Hence the start of a love affair with anything sparkly.

After years of collecting I started selling at local antique fairs and Elsecar Antiques Centre.
Elsecar Antiques Centre houses over 120 dealers and is located in Building 18 at the Elsecar Heritage Centre site near Barnsley, South Yorkshire, UK. I have a large cabinet on the ground floor. Cabinet 73 is the first one on the left past the sales counter. It is re stocked on a regular basis.
The Heritage Centre is within the former ironworks and colliery workshops of the Earls Fitzwilliam and close to Wentworth Woodhouse a stunning Grade 1 listed property. This fabulous property was once the home of the Fitzwilliams dating from around the 1740’s.
